For all Creative Cloud versions we recommend using the free DMXzone Extension Manager. It does not rely on Adobe CC internals to install the extension and as such may not be affected by any Adobe CC internal issues or database corruptions. We have fully tested this extension manager and it will work with all of our extensions.

Note: Since the DMXzone EM does not use the Adobe database you will not see already installed extensions in the interface listing, you will only see the extension you have installed using this (DMXzone) extension manager, even though they may be installed and active in Dreamweaver. This causes no issues, and you can always re-install any extension so that it appears in the listing.

For all Creative Cloud versions Adobe recommends using the free Anastasiy’s Extension Manager for Adobe Creative Cloud. We have fully tested this Extension Manager and it works perfectly for all of our extensions.

Note: The Anastasiy Extension Manager uses the Adobe Extension Installer core module for installing the extension. Currently there are some issues with the latest Adobe Creative Cloud updates that result in extension installation corruption. We recommend using the free DMXzone Extension Manager which is not affected by these issues.

Important -CS6 and under

If you are running CS6 (or earlier) versions of Adobe products, you should continue to use the Adobe Extension Manager that came with your product.

Extensions not listed or showing after the latest Adobe Cloud Update?

If the extensions do not appear in Dreamweaver it indicates a file corruption in the Dreamweaver configs, specifically menus.xml and insertbar.xml. The latest update to the Adobe Creative Cloud app can cause syntax corruption in those two files. It's an Adobe CC issue which we no control over, hopefully they will fix it soon.

This issue will persist until it is fixed. The best way to fix it is to re-create the Dreamweaver user's Configuration folder:

  • - First close Dreamweaver
  • -Locate the Dreamweaver User's Configuration folder:

Mac:
MacHD : Users : (username) : Library : Application Support : Adobe : Dreamweaver 2021 : (language) : Configuration

Windows:
C:\Users\(you user name)\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver 2021\(language)\Configuration

Note: The Library or AppData folder may be hidden, be sure to enable View Hidden or System files

  • - Rename the folder to "Configuration_Old"
  • - Restart Dreamweaver. A new configuration folder will be built. This will restore Dreamweaver to default.
  • - Close Dreamweaver

You will now need to re-install all of your extensions.

  • - Open the DMXzone EM, first, click the X next to each extension listed to remove them from the EM database.
  • - Now install each of your extensions.
  • -When finished, restart Dreamweaver. All of the extensions should now be listed.
