PVII Dreamweaver Extensions
Extensions allow you to add new features and capabilities to Dreamweaver. Extensions extend Dreamweaver's abilities, so you can extend yours to do more with Dreamweaver. Project Seven has been leading the way in Dreamweaver Extension development since 1998 - with over 40 free and commercial extensions to make your job easier. PVII Extensions are thoroughly tested and our support and online communities are without peer.
How are extensions delivered?
Extensions are downloaded. For free extensions, the file you download is a Macromedia extension package file (MXP) - a compressed installation file containing the extension to be installed by the Macromedia Extension Manager. For commercial extension kits, the extension package file is delivered inside a zip archive that also contains related files, such as tutorials or a User Guide.
How do I install an extension?
Windows and Mac users can usually just double-click the extension package (MXP) file to start the installation process. Some Macs, however, have file association problems which require a workaround.

OSX file association workaround
If you experience a problem installing an extension into OSX, use Dreamweaver’s Site or Files panel to locate the extension package file. Once you’ve found it, double-click the file. The Extension Manager should open and installation should begin.
Alternatively, you can use Finder to locate the MXP file. Once you've located the MXP in Finder, simply double-click it to open the Extension Manager and start the installation process.
If the above steps to do not work, a Dreamweaver update or version upgrade has likely corrupted your file associations. Contact us for a more detailed workaround.
